James' Interpretation:
A wedding represents the unification of the male and
female aspects of the dreamer. In this case, it is the
union or merger of Carrie's heart (the bride) and mind
(the groom). This unification is bringing Carrie into a
greater sense of wholeness.
Having James as the person who is officiating the
ceremony is an interesting twist, as Carrie and James
have a working relationship (they work in the same
department in the same company). James represents
work in this regard; Carrie is, or needs to be, working
on this integration process. It could suggest Carrie sees
James as a person who represents spirituality, or that
she looks to him for approval or blessing (he is
"working" in an official capacity, validating this
union). Carrie may need to consider what she is
working on in waking life that she thinks or feels may
need some form of approval. This could suggest Carrie
need not look for external approval, but find the
approval she thinks she needs within herself.
Whatever the qualities she sees in James, she is being
asked to bring those out of herself, for the things we
recognize in other people are somewhere inside us as
well.
