Jimmy's Dream: The Boxer I am at work, making a sub for a customer. The customer tells me, as I reach to put jalapeno peppers on the sub, that he doesn't want them. I look at the customer and I realize he is Oscar de la Hoya, the boxer. |
James' Interpretation: The subject matter of Jimmy's dream is his workplace, as that is the location in the dream. In waking life, Jimmy works in a deli. He is waiting on a customer in the dream. In connection to his work, this part of the dream is telling Jimmy that he needs to develop patience (pun for waiting) on the job. The dream may be suggesting that Jimmy is impatient when dealing with customers at work. Another aspect of waiting on customers for Jimmy is that he is providing a service. Being in service to others places a high spiritual aspect to this dream. Having said that, Jimmy may be struggling with the fact that he may think or feel that, in a larger spiritual sense, this job doesn't really have any sense of purpose or meaning. His role as a service person says that his "work" is really that of a spiritual healer.
