Jimmy's Dream: The Boxer
I am at work, making a sub for a customer. The customer
tells me, as I reach to put jalapeno peppers on the sub, that
he doesn't want them. I look at the customer and I realize
he is Oscar de la Hoya, the boxer.
James' Interpretation:
The subject matter of Jimmy's dream is his
workplace, as that is the location in the dream. In
waking life, Jimmy works in a deli.
He is waiting on a customer in the dream. In
connection to his work, this part of the dream is
telling Jimmy that he needs to develop patience
(pun for waiting) on the job. The dream may be
suggesting that Jimmy is impatient when
dealing with customers at work.
Another aspect of waiting on customers for
Jimmy is that he is providing a service. Being in
service to others places a high spiritual aspect to
this dream. Having said that, Jimmy may be
struggling with the fact that he may think or feel
that, in a larger spiritual sense, this job doesn't
really have any sense of purpose or meaning. His
role as a service person says that his "work" is
really that of a spiritual healer. But, in order to
be of any real service to anyone else, he must
"work" on healing certain things within himself.
