James' Dream: A Witch in the 1900s

A woman is going to open her home as a place of learning for young people. She doesn't want it to be discovered that she is a witch. She is dressed in turn of the century (1900s) clothing.

James' Interpretation:

The subject matter of this dream is the dreamer's past life. This is symbolized by the clothing worn by the woman in the dream. In the dreamer's past life, he was a witch. Witches have long been associated with persecution for their practices, and it was probably no different for our dreamer, which is indicated by the woman not wanting to be discovered as a witch. In this dream, the woman is also a teacher, as she is opening her home as a place of learning. The home, then being a school, is telling our dreamer that he is learning something about himself to improve himself (he is the home becoming a school). In this lifetime, he is being urged to become a teacher of some kind (a specific subject is not indicated in the dream). Another aspect of the clothing can suggest he is being asked to examine some attitudes or beliefs he may have acquired from his past (the 1900s). The woman, in this context, would suggest he learned (the woman being a teacher) these things from his mother. One thing in particular may be about being honest. In the dream, the woman is keeping an aspect of herself a secret, which can be translated as not being honest. Not wanting to be discovered translates to avoidance, which is probably the result of some fear. The fear might be based on some form of rejection or persecution if people found out (discovered) something about himself he doesn't want people to know.
